Thanksgiving Weekend

It's Thanksgiving weekend, a time to reflect on what we're thankful for like family, good health, happiness and thankful for the opportunity to have met Fanny.    Friday night Fanny helped Lydia make lasagna for dinner and after the three of them went to the Ilderton arena to watch their friend Amy Zavitz play hockey.  The girls won 2-0!!  With Halloween fast approaching I took Brooke and Fanny into London to McCulloch's, the largest Halloween store in the area.   From masks, to wigs, hats, fake blood, makeup and complete Halloween costumes, you can find it all here.

We leave and travel downtown to Budweiser Gardens the home of the London Knights hockey team where there is a hockey promotion taking place with live music, free hot chocolate, road hockey games and free jerseys which Brooke and Fanny take advantage of.

Saturday night and Lydia had Fanny and Brooke busy in the kitchen preparing for Thanksgiving the next day.   The girls made bread, pumpkin pie and a caramel cake while I made sure to stay as far away from the kitchen as possible.

Sunday October 12th and the sun is shining on this beautiful fall day.   We have my parents, Russell and Shirley, my 94yr old grandmother Evelyn, my sister Sherrie and her daughter Ashley and Lydia's dad Egon joining us for dinner.   Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, squash, turnip, fresh French bread, pumpkin pie and cake are enjoyed for dinner.

Monday we decide to take the short drive to Apple Land  to pick apples.  We picked  9 kg of apples of varying varieties, walked through the corn maze and bought some caramel apples for Brooke and Fanny.

We arrive home early in the afternoon.  Brooke made Fanny and herself a grilled cheese sandwich for a late lunch and then they both began homework.  Our long Thanksgiving weekend has come to a close.
