Fanny Cools Arrives August 22, 2014

It's Friday August 22nd, 2014 Lydia has taken the day off of work.  Lydia and Brooke leave shortly after 10am to head to Mississauga, first for some much needed back to school shopping and most importantly to pick up our exchange student Fanny Cools who will be staying with us over the next 3 months.    After Brooke spent way too much time in her favourite store Hot Topic she left with 3 t-shirts and a few bracelets.  


The girls made their way over to the hotel where they would pick up Fanny.  They arrived shortly after 5, Brooke was taken to meet Fanny and shortly after Lydia was introduced to Fanny.  Modern technology is great and having the ability for not only Brooke and Fanny to Skype but all of us with Fanny's family prior to meeting helped but nothing beats meeting in person.    With Fanny's luggage loaded the girls battled through Toronto traffic and arrived home at 8:45pm.

After some photos out front of our house with our banner welcoming Fanny, Brooke gave Fanny a tour of the house.  Fanny then proceeded to unpack and clean up after a long day in Toronto where she saw the CN Tower, the Eaton Centre and toured the home of the Toronto Blue Jays, Rogers Centre.   We sat out on our back deck for a short time and Fanny presented us with gift after gift.  Several books on France, a cook book for myself on cooking French cuisine, a towel for each of us, a calendar, a bracelet for Brooke, a scarf and some amazing cookies.  Thanks to Fanny and her family for the wonderful gifts.  


Fanny couldn't be more perfect.   She's friendly, courteous, has a great sense of humour and comes to Canada wanting to try new things and new experiences.  Tryouts for Brooke's London Lightning Fastball team begin September 2nd and Fanny is registered.
